The arrangements for referral are complicated and vary by PCT/borough.

The infomation is presented in sections:

• booking – which organisation provides the booking service and how to contact them
• eligibiity – whether a local resident without a local GP has access to the service and the forms required
• pre-abortion assessment – who does the assessment and where
• abortion procedure – which institution(s) does the abortion and what procedures are available

Some women do not have a local GP, but may be eligible for abortion based on their residence.
